  4. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
  5.  
  6. MONEY MATH for Windows, v2.1 <ASP>, brings you a comprehensive set
  7. of financial analysis tools in one package.  No need for a different
  8. program for each calculation you want to do.  Money Math has 17
  9. different dialog boxes that perform over 50 financial calculations.
  10. Look at the following generic calculations available:

  15.     Annuities: Loan, Save, Lease, Sinking Fund
  16.     Bonds: Corporate, Treasury

  22. Specialized Worksheets perform multiple generic calculations to do the
  23. following complex tasks:

  28.     Income from Savings (Retirement Planning)

  30. Your calculation results can be easily edited, printed, or saved to a
  31. file. Money Math gets financial mathematics under control!

  34. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  35.  
  36. Money Math requires, as a minimum, an IBM AT or compatible computer with
  37. Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, or Windows '95 installed and running.  The
  38. current memory in your computer should be adequate if you are able to
  39. use other Windows applications satisfactorily. The hard disk space
  40. needed is less than 400 kilobytes. Money Math will not run with Windows
  41. 3.0.

  44. INSTALLING MONEY MATH 
  45.  
  46. You will probably receive Money Math in one of two ways.  In the first 
  47. way, you will have a floppy disk with the nine individual files listed 
  48. below:

  50.     MONYMATH.EXE  - Money Math executable for Windows 3.1 or greater
  51.     MONYMATH.HLP  - Money Math help for Windows 3.1 or greater 
  52.     REGISTER.TXT  - Registration form for Users
  53.     README.TXT    - Getting Started Documentation (this file)
  54.     MEDIA.WRI     - Quick start for Money Math and for Media use
  55.  
  56.     INSTALL.EXE   - Installation Program for Money Math
  57.     FILE_ID.DIZ   - BBS description of Money Math
  58.     VENDOR.TXT    - (use VENDINFO.DIZ for all information)
  59.     VENDINFO.DIZ  - BBS/Vendor/Distributor information

  61. If you have a disk with the nine files, use the instructions given in
  62. the section below titled, "USING THE INSTALL PROGRAM".
  63.  
  64. The second way to receive Money Math is in a compressed file or archive.
  65. The compressed file name should be MOMATH4.xxx where "xxx" indicates 
  66. which file compression utility was used.  In this case, use the 
  67. suggestions given in the section titled, "INSTALL FROM A COMPRESSED 
  68. FILE".

  70. If you prefer to install Money Math manually, copy the first five files
  71. listed above to the directory of your choice.  Using Windows 3.1 or
  72. 3.11, create five icons and install them in the Windows Group of your
  73. choice by using the Program Manager "File" menu and selecting "New...".
  74. Using Windows95 or later, create a "Start" menu item by adding a folder
  75. called "Money Math" in Windows\Start Menu\Progams\ folder. Now, add five
  76. "shortcuts" to the "Money Math" folder for the five files you copied to
  77. the directory of your choice above.

  80. USING THE INSTALL PROGRAM
  81.  
  82. To install Money Math, start up Windows and put the Money Math floppy
  83. disk in Drive A.  Follow the directions in the sections below depending
  84. on which version of Windows you are using:
  85.  
  86. Windows 3.1 or 3.11
  87.  
  88. From the Program Manager "File" menu, select "Run". Type "A:INSTALL" in
  89. the dialog box that appears.  After you press "ENTER" or click on the
  90. "OK" button, the Install program will start on the floppy drive. If you
  91. are installing from B drive, substitute the letter B for the letter A
  92. above.

  96. From the "Start" menu select "Run". Type "A:INSTALL" in the dialog box
  97. that appears.  After you press "ENTER" or click on the "OK" button, the
  98. Install program will start on the floppy drive. If you are installing
  99. from B drive, substitute the letter B for the letter A above.

  101. The Install program will copy the Money Math files to a new directory 
  102. titled "MONEY" on your hard drive (C:).  You will have an opportunity to
  103. revise the directory and installation location.  Click on the "OK" 
  104. button or press the "ENTER" key to start the file transfer to the 
  105. directory you selected.

  107. Using Windows 3.1 or 3.11, the Install program will also create a
  108. Windows Group named "Money Math" and put the Money Math icons in that
  109. group.  You may move the Money Math icons to another group later if
  110. desired.

  112. Using Windows95 or later, a menu item titled, "Money Math" will be added
  113. to the "Start Menu" with five "shortcuts" to the files listed above.

  116. INSTALL FROM A COMPRESSED FILE
  117.  
  118. If you received Money Math as a single file such as MOMATH4.ZIP, copy 
  119. this file to a temporary directory on your hard disk.  Next, decompress 
  120. the file using a decompression utility program.  The DOS command might 
  121. be PKUNZIP MOMATH4.ZIP if that compression utility was used to compress 
  122. the file.  Several other compression/decompression utilities are in 
  123. common use.  You can probably obtain the correct utility from the same 
  124. place you obtained the Money Math archive.

  126. If the Money Math archive file name is MOMATH4.EXE, you decompress it
  127. by running it from your temporary directory as you would any DOS
  128. program.  No other utilities are needed.

  130. Once the archive file is decompressed, you should have the nine files 
  131. listed above in your temporary directory.  Now you can install Money 
  132. Math as described above in the section titled, "USING THE INSTALL 
  133. PROGRAM".  Instead of typing "A:INSTALL" in the "Run" dialog box, you 
  134. would type, "C:\TMP\INSTALL", where C:\TMP is the current hard drive and 
  135. directory where the nine files are located.

  138. UNINSTALL MONEY MATH

  142. First delete each icon in the Money Math Group by selecting it and then
  143. pressing the 'Delete' key. When all the icons are gone, delete the Group
  144. by pressing the 'Delete' key.

  146. Next, from the File Manager, delete the directory containing the Money
  147. Math files. First, select the directory and then delete it by pressing
  148. the 'Delete' key. Money Math does not put any files in other
  149. directories.

  153. Using Explorer, delete the directory containing the Money Math files.
  154. First, select the directory and then delete it by pressing the 'Delete'
  155. key. Money Math does not put any files in other directories.

  157. To remove the, "Money Math" item from the, "Start" menu, move to the,
  158. Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ folder using Explorer. Expand the folder
  159. by clicking on the "+". Now, click on the, "Money Math" folder and press
  160. the delete key.

  163. RUNNING MONEY MATH
  164.  
  165. To start Money Math, double-click the mouse on the Money Math icon for
  166. Windows 3.1 or 3.11. For Windows95, from the "Start" menu, select
  167. "Programs". Now select "Money Math" from the menu and again select
  168. "Money Math" from the menu.

  170. Selecting "Exit" from the "File" menu item closes Money Math.  You can 
  171. also use the Alt+F4 key combination to do the same thing.

  174. MONEY MATH DOCUMENTATION
  175.  
  176. All of the Money Math features are documented in Money Math Help.  You
  177. can select the "Help" menu item from within Money Math or you can double
  178. click on the "Money Math Help" icon.  Either way, the Windows Help
  179. program will run Money Math Help.

  181. All of the menu items are fully documented in Money Math Help including
  182. the 16 Money Math Calculation examples. The examples are available by
  183. selecting the "Help" menu item and clicking on, "Examples". Context
  184. sensitive help is available by highlighting a menu item and pressing the
  185. F1 key. The Search index has over 200 items. To get started, select the
  186. "Help" menu item and click on, "Contents". Then, review the
  187. introductory items listed below:
